What to know before you compare plans in Olmsted County
Mayo Clinic accepts Original Medicare, full stop — which is why Original Medicare with a Minnesota supplement is the plan most Rochester retirees start from. Mayo contracts with only some Medicare Advantage plans, and those contracts are renegotiated; UnitedHealthcare left Olmsted County for 2026. If you want an Advantage plan for its extras, we confirm its Mayo status in writing first.
Olmsted Medical Center is the other major system, with its own contracts. Cost plans are not sold in Olmsted County, though neighbouring Goodhue and Rice counties still have them.
